MY MISSION

My mission is to foster empathy worldwide by telling stories that make people feel seen, challenge perceptions, and remind us of our shared humanity.

As an actress and storyteller, I aspire to create work that reflects the complexities of identity and the experiences of people who often go unseen. I believe that when we feel represented in art, we understand ourselves more deeply; and when we witness stories outside our own lived reality, we grow more compassionate.

I’m committed to help others recognize their worth, feel valued, and see themselves mirrored in the characters and worlds I help bring to life. Through my craft, I hope to encourage healing, spark connection, and make empathy a universal language.

I help follow through with this mission with my production company, Newland Pictures.

ABOUT EMILY

Emily Newland is a bicoastal actress currently studying Theater at UCLA’s School of Theater, Film, and Television (Co’2026).

Growing up as a military child, Emily lived in Italy, Germany, Washington, Georgia, Hawai’i, New York, and more. Being immersed in so many cultures shaped her into someone deeply empathetic, adaptable, and open-minded—traits she brings into every character she builds and every story she tells.

A dedicated advocate for social justice, kindness, and equality, Emily is committed to uplifting her community, offering support to those in need, and championing stories that broaden understanding.

Outside of her work, she loves spending time with family, reading dystopia/romantasy, writing poetry and short stories, exercising, spending time with her dog (Khaleesi), and diving into YouTube rabbit holes.

Some of her performance credits include:
A series regular in Youth Group, produced by the 5-time Emmy Award-winning Oak Film Co, Lead role in the Geffen Playhouse workshop production What It Iz, developed with UCLA’s Prison Education Program, Multiple SAG TikTok commercial campaigns, Voiceover roles in an independent animated feature and a principal VO character in Vincent Edwards’ new POC TV show, Leading roles in two original stage works at UCLA, etc.

Emily’s artistic brand is rooted in “the leader knowledgeable about her inner power and fighting to feel valued.” She is a leading character actor with ethnically ambiguous range—thoughtful, diligent, and known among directors as someone who shows up prepared, collaborative, and always ready to keep the work fresh and alive.
